upgrading to 2500

I am considering upgrading to the 2500 from the 1000.
But now with the new firmware for the 1000 it seems as though there is not as much to make me upgrade.
If anyone could help me out with either reasons for or against upgrading that would be awesome!!

why are YOU considering doing it?
Is it just gear lust?
Does the 1000 lack anything that you think you need?
The OS's are very very similar.
There are bigger differences in the HW

REALLY important question to ask yourself.

do you need the extra midi outs? if so, get the 2500. this is perhaps the biggest pull - 2500 is for those who already have a lot of gear.

You'll be able to back up to dvd... it would be a more standalone unit but besides that and the midi outs right now your good in my opinion. Like Ant said unless you need these things your good to go.
