You will burn that sh*t out way too fast. The one thing that sux is that fact that you cant fit the turntable in the top cover part, so you have to find a spot for it, which can be a b*tch when you are digging in a tight area with lots of other customers walking around you. The bateries last forever in the thing too.. I like to fill my water bottle up with tequila sunrise, and dig dig dig till i'm diggity DRUNK.
Yeah, I've thought about bying the PT01, I thought that the pitch-shifting would be a nice feature.
But just didn't like the size of it.
I've had the luck to hunt down one of these: http://www.thevintageknob.org/THEVAULT/PRP5/PRP5.html
in very excellent mint condition.
But I've had my downfalls with it.
What are your experiences with taking a portable tt with you when diggin'.
I've went with mine to two vinyl-secondhand-stores at my town.
And both times they didn't allow me to use it - they were very anal about their wax.
That was something that really annoyed me because they are ridiculous expensive.
All the good & known soul albums they sell them about 10-35 euros - and then expect me to buy a pig in poke. (Man, I've even seen a vinyl - which I've bought within a bunch of other, like 6 pcs. for 20 bucks
- the selling price for this one record in the store was 45 euros
)
I'm not that experienced in all those crate-diggin' and am not sure what excatly to search for.
I think those shops are more for people who really know excatly what they search for.
But it was not a very business savy decision of them - because now I will spend my money elsewhere - and I was really about spending a lot of loot for the right records.
well,
In the future, I will try to hit more flea-markets and see what I can digg up there.
