Is this setup possible on the 1000?

Okay, here's my main goal. I want to be able to use input thru to record a bassline into a track on the 1000, BUT, I would like to have the bassline quantised. Here's what I was thinking:

I could run midi out from my keyboard to the midi in of the 1000 and then midi out from the 1000 to my soundcard. I would be using one of my VST plugs for the bass. I would then set the quantize on the track and I would record into the 1000 from my soundcard. Now, what I'm thinking is that since the notes are coming from the MPC to the soundcard, this would allow the 1000 to quantise the notes played while recording the audio received from my soundcard.

Is this possible or am I tripping?

Basically what I'm trying to do in a nutshell is have the MPC quantise the audio coming in from my soundcard on to the input thru track using the notes being played on my keyboard. So, rather than the bassline being just a sample, each note would be a sample along with a midi note, which is quantised using whichever setting I chose on the MP sequencer (1/8, 1/16, etc.).

Now, remember, I don't own a 1000 so I don't know if the track on the 1000 that would be recording the input can record midi data along with the audio or if its just an audio track. Could someone let me know? If this feature is possible, then I'm copping.

Well, not quite but similar::

I just use 2 tracks: one where i compose the midi sequence and record it. The other track holds the audio sample which i record back from the synth.

So, first I get the midi sequence sounding right, and get the sound setting on the synth sounding good, then I record the audio from the synth back in 2- or 4-bar chunks, then put those samples in a program. The audio sounds quantized and on point because the original midi sequence was already quantized, know what i mean.

If you were wanting the individual _notes_ to be captured back in as audio and saved automatically to a track with the right rhythm... then no it doesn't do that. Closest to that would be to put the audio thru 'slice' mode once you already capture it.
