MPC 2000xl question on MORALS

sup guys... i know this is gonna sound sad
but is it morally right to edit samples we have and put em on the mpc
isnt the machine there for that ?
i know its faster and all but .. me personally.. im trying to use my mpc to its fullest... is that good? or is it a waste of time?( cuz of the fact that it would be faster to edit on computer and put it in the mpc)

well, the sampler is kinda limited in functions and capabilities so there is nothing wrong with sampling into CoolEdit or whatever program you use, processing/chopping/compressing/looping/adding FX and then importing the file into your MPC.

The 1000 and 4000 were built to do that.

When you buy an MPC, you are paying for the converters (the sound) and the sequencer, not the sampler.

IMHO the samplers in the MPCs suck.

IMO, cutting the samples on the computer is more accurate, but sometimes I like the laggy feel of imperfect cuts on the MP. The big problem I have is that I like to keep my library on the computer, so when I get done I need to copy them off to the comp anyway. Do whatever is working for you. I have been using this software that allows you to create a program on the comp and export it to the MPC. This has made life much easier for me.

not for anything fade but i dontfind that the mpc sampler has a laggy feelééon the contrary i find that its pretty tight when u understand how to do it

i dont use a computer for beats but i will still say it is easier.
obviously its harder to work on the mpc because the screen is limited and there is no mouse. it is cheaper for software to give you more options that hardware. But if you have the money you can do pretty much anything with hardware too.

Well, if you're making loops, then the PC hands down. Zero-crossings anyone? BTW, I use my MPC for everyting else, edidting samples is the ONLY thing I use my PC for (well, as far as making beats. I do use it to multi-track/record/mix/etc)
