1000 or 2000

Im about to buy an MPC, but cant decide whether its more practical to buy a 1000 or 2000. also, what the difference with a 2000xl? can someone help?? a list of pros and cons of each would be great. Thanks guys, if you wanna hear my beats www.myspace.com/esqproductions

well check it out. i have the 2000xl and it does me well. ive never worked with a 1000 before but, from what it looks like the 1000 is geared more toward the future of mpcs. its memory is well more expandable and not just that it can also hook up to your computer via usb. the 2000xl can only take 32 megs of memory vs. 128 that the 1000 can do. the more memory the more sampling time. and not just that, from what i heard the new OS for the 1000 is supposed to be up there with the new mpc 2500. so thats that.

you also need to take into consideration that the chart is a little out dated..

features like imput thru and timestrech are available one 1000 now.

I have a 1000 and have worked with a 2000xl, I'm switching to the xl. To me the 1000 sounds too clean, I prefer the xl sound, but in the end it's really up to the soound your looking for, they are both excellent machines.

go with the 1000, I used to have one and miss some of the features, you can put a hardrive in in and adition samples beforebringing them in(which is more helpful than it sounds). I have a 2000xl and a 3000, but I still might pick up the 1000 cause its tight

i had the exact same problem as you.... i really couldnt decide which one to get... the best way you could know is if u go to a music store and see how u like the feel of both machines.... the reason i baught the xl was first offf cuz of the sound.. and second of al the fact that i liike using the computer less ( on the 1000 from wat ive heard u gotta be willing to work with the software).... third of all the fact that i could get a digital 8 output upgrade on the xl makes it even better... im not gonna buy that upgrade for now.... but once i feel that im coming along with producing beats and i feel that my beats are getting to be the way i want them to be... im most probably gonna get the upgrade...
and last but not least the reason i baught the xl was cuz of the feel of the machine.... when i use those pads i feel like im control of the machine...
dont get me wrong... the 1000 is an amazing machine with all its features( more memory and usb connection to the computer.... but the xl was the better machine for my needs...
btw guys im still a newcomer to the game im just tryin to help out so if theres any info that i gave that wasnt good or if anyone has any comments to make go ahead... im by far still an amateur
