Track Velocity Feature Can someone Explain

I noticed on the Main page (On the 2500, not the manual) you can set the Track Velocity to 200. I also READ that anything over 127 (default maximum) "have no effect".

Can someone explain the benefit of setting the track velocity to anything over 127, if it will have no effect?

it actually is a percentage, so, for example, you had a drum hit recorded that was at 60. setting the track velocity to 200, it will play as if you recorded it at 120.

That definitely helps but if I had a drum hit rceorded at 60 and I wanted the velocity to play at 120, couldn't I just change it to 120 as well?

yes true, but if you had a load of drum hits on a track, wouldn't it be a long winded way of doing things?
