Could you please explain the actual theory and thinking behind this one please?
Im guessing that it means you have twice as many events/ticks in the same space of time (lets say one bar) as by having the tempo doubled one bar is actually gonna be two bars right. I imagine this effects the groove in that rather than there being 96 ticks between each 1/4 note there is actually 192, therefore allowing finer tuning of the placement of events. However I dont see how this would be of benefit to someone who quantizies to say 1/16 as the same effect could be achieved by quantizising to 1/32 non?
A little theory or explanation (or a link to someone explaining it) would be very interesting. Just lately all the things I have been reading about production have started to click into place as I learn more and more. Kets be honest coming into the world of production, all the talk of amp envelopes quantizing, filering etc can be rather daunting and unfathomable.
Thanks
