Auto Punch In/Out?

I'm 99% sure this isn't possible with the MPC1000 but I'll ask anyway. Let's say I have a 4 bar sequence and I want to re-record only the 2nd bar. Is it possible to set the Punch In/Out times and have the MPC automatically begin and stop recording during that time? A hidden feature perhaps? Wishful thinking!

I havent found anything that'll do that... maybe using a foot pedal to trigger record will get u closer though.

not to have happen automatically. of course just press the "overdub" button for the punch in and out. but that has to be done manually.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with a footswitch, which you can pick up at any guitar center. (or whatever's similar in your area) A pair of footswitches can really improve your workflow on the 1000 in general.

In the manual under "Setting the loop for a sequence", you can read how to do this.

Right from the manual:
"With the sequence loop feature, you can overdub a new performance while playing back a sequence repeatedly. However, when you are working on a long song, created as a single sequence, it may be better to loop only the part of the song that needs to be changed."
