you just want something that will let you set your PPQN(parts per quarter note) resolution to 96ppqn... the 60 is 96, the SP is 48, the 4000 is somehitng like 9600 or 96000 or some crazy chit! EVEN WITH QUANTIZE OFF, THIS IS YOUR LIMITED RESOLUTION...

I can assure you I know how to make music without training wheels... problem is I can't afford a 60. Is it that big a deal? I didn't think so.

Dude, I couldn't afford an mp60 either. That was until I knocked off these three quickie marts.

But seriously, you could start by securing employment.

Think about it...hahahah

I thought the SP was 16 ppqn.

the sp1200 is 24 ppqn; 48 ppqn if you program at double speed (which you should on the SP).

my bad.

I don't usually program double time on the SP.

It's only a great help if you want automated swing.

Normally I just program snares bang on the 1/4s, and the rest is programmed on hi-res; so if I want swingishness, I put it in myself somehow.

Doesn't double-timing also cause headaches during sync? I seem to recall some headache slaving other sequencers/recorders to the SP in this case.

Your right, that's one of the reasons 95% of the time I'll choose to create my own riffs, stabs, basslines and what not.

So I guess I'm being a hypocrite.....
