on the contrary i can play lots of instruments, but i can see more musicianship in some people i know rocking mp's (that cant even play one instrument) compared to people who have played an instrument for 10 years.

I rocked my kalimba on 5 tracks and i love it.It's def. different.

i agree wit the true musicianhip shit, this clip is prety inspirin and concidering i play just about ever instrument i can find laying around. i leaned the guitar and piano,drums etc by ear, growing upin a house of music it came naturaly not to be vain or anything.. and when i got into "hiphop production" ive been thinkin to myself like damn i am holding myself back when isample and shit.. this video gave me alot of motivation to stop holding back... ive got all my instruments in my studio room with me but tend not to use them as much as i should. first things first ima cop a better soundcard and start steppin my game up. the thing that i love about overseas in europe is the culture is always held down. theres almost no POP comercial radio shit goin on there, at least not half of the amount we have hear. they keep it to real and i know a few mcs, bboys , graff writers, and dj friends from europe that all tell me the same shit... i wish i could move out there and live there for a while and realy try to focus on incorperatin my musical talent into production more.. then again ive only been into the whole beatmakin thing for over a year now..anyways thanks for the post !

Word to that man. You should sample yourself playing. It gives you the melodic taste of non-hip hop music, but you still the hip hop swing/ chopped up feel for the sound.

That beat making video was DOPE.

what did he do with the hats to make it sound like that. Did he just copy the hat to another pad and lowere it.

That was a very dope vid.... That is pure talent. Dude when sound for sound, instrument for instrument. This is what you watch when your in a slump!!

sounds good, although really not my kind of groove and drum sounds!
and lots of editing in that section, it tends to let you know he really hit that beat (and the little variation heard afterwards) in just 30 seconds...
the instrument fiddling is awesome, kalimba is sweet...
jut at the end, don't forget it's just a loop. a repetitive beat, with clever, rich elements on top. that's not a song...

.. you can play every instarument ( well, piano, gtr & drums) and you have those instruments but you have to see a video that shows u how to use those instruments?? What the fuk?
