Cubase vst 5.0 and mpc 1000 sync'ed

I have been thru the mpc manual, cubase manual plus the cubase power book. i'm still unable to sync both together. i know that it can't be that hard. i must be just overlooking it. Anyone that has used the mpc 1000 and cubase vst 5.0 together, i would greatly appreciate the help. I have also search this forum and others. i know that this is an old program, but it's all i have. MPC is to be the slave.

send midi clock instead of mtc..the 1k does'nt respond to midi timecode

I am. I just think that it is something else wrong. It can't be that hard. do you think I should reinstall the os on the 1k? Currently i have the updated version 2.0 or 2.10. I have just installed cubase, everything else is working. It will record the audio, but I would like to just sync it up to have a nice work flow. most times i have a limited amount of time to work.

how do you have the mpc midi/sync configured? what midi ports do you have your cables connected (in conjunction to your configuration)? what sync method do you have vst5 set to? are you using cubase as well as cubase vst?

I checked out the video before posting, ( good vid). I followed everything that you did. I even tried a version of cubase 2.0.33 and the mpc just won't start.

I sync my M1K to ProTools no problem using beat clock, no problem. Unless your cubase is messed up, theres really no reason it isnt working....

Fixed my problem. Orig I had my old MPC 2000 ( screen went bad) It was only good as a controller. I had it all daisy chained, out pc to Alesis QS 6, out QS 6 in MPC 2000, Out MPC to the PC. Everything worked fine because I was just starting with Reason, wasn't tracking didn't have the software. When I got my 1k I just replaced the 2k.

Tonight I just tried a direct connection to start eliminating hardware, hoping that nothng was wrong with the MPC 1k First try... in the words of Emeril.....BAM! All is good in da hood! I hope that this may some how help you and you setup.
