Just picked up a Tech12MK2...modification ????

I figured this was the best place to post this, I just went to a Sale and got Slightly used 1200, now the RCA cables I hear it's better to replace them for a better sound quality? Anyone do this?

The reason I put this thread here was because i'm really only using this for sampling and I want the signal to be alot clearer.

Anyone?

Many years ago I had to replace the RCA's on 1 of my Techs ...

I wouldnt bother doin so just get a clearer sound, I never noticed a difference between the two, then or now.

If anything get some New needles. Shure M-44 cartridge n stylus are designed especially for cuttin n scratchin but there very loud and clear..samples sound crisp off these, best sounding needles I have ever used and been using for years.

i got mine used with spliced cables... easy to replace them, yuo just gotta open up the table desolder and solder in the new ones... i paid my homie at DJ-Tronics to do it up for me, once i saw him do it i was like damm its that easy...

just pick up some Monster Cable twice as long as you need it with signal flow chop it in half, take the connector off one end and resolder it on the other end, making sure that the signal flow is going in the direction of the RCA connector on the end of BOTH pieces of the chopped in half cable, then solder them on.... should be easy for someone that knows how to solder... gold monster cables with signal flow is what i got, it seems like they boost the high frequencies a bit though...

m44-7s are what i have, they sound nice and from what i hear they dont put much in the terms of wear on your vinyl compared to some of those dj styluses...

yeah soldering is simple enough I think I might just replace them with some high quality cables.

I also had to replace them on one of my technics and it really ain't a big deal....
but I wouldn't do it just to get a better sound quality!

i ve had my 1200 for over 25 yrs and i need to replace my rca's too, not for better sound , but because they kut out on the channels and it bugs the shlt out of me,

i used them last night and the are the best the are scratch needles but it boost your sound up half of what any other needle does, so i would say for sampling mant this will boost your sound ,then just eq to perfection and you got a good sounding sample, these are goin to be the industry standards now beleeev dat,

yo my friend used some monstercable rca's and he's had no problems the only thing is you have to figure out how to put them on right cuz the had a directional flow on them ,

but this will cause you from having problems with them always gettin mess'd up on the part you push into the mixer

i have to buy some so i can replace mine on three of technics.

i wish i had my vinyl in a better way tho,i wish i want so messy and lazy,
i take stuff out to spin and i just put it in pikes and dont stock them back in till i'm blocked in ,
