Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hello im a hip hop producer/dj from manchester uk and have been producing for around using 2years and dj'ing/collecting for around 7 years. i used to do the bulk of my production using software but am currently using the 2000xl to do the bulk of my sample based production.i have had my mpc for around 4months now and find using it fine to do pretty much anything i want when it comes to chopping and processing samples into a fully sequenced track.
i use cubase in my studio to make my multitrack mixtapes and to record cuts and vocals over the beats made from my mpc and to mix down further etc.
my question is,i have been just sending my completed cubase track through my 2 channel (dj) mixer as a line in and just recording it into cubase as a audio track from which i do get a fairly good sound.then adding furhter audio tracks for vocals etc. i know there must be someway of doing a midi dump from the mpc into cubase so that i can have audio or midi channels in cubase for each track from the mpc, drums, strings etc in order to be able to mix down proper.
i have the manual and have tried but cant seem to conquer it which is pissing me off!!can someone break it down for me in lehmans terms
i have a midi out connection going from my mpc into my soundcard and have checked the buses in cubase etc...
any help greatly appreciated, cheers omas... at large productions

save your sequence as a midi file on the mpc . Open that midi in cubase on your pc and you're done.
