Does anyone know if the MPC1000 contains programming allowing a sample to be played polyphonically in semitone steps on a connected MIDI keyboard. I would like to be able to play the pads through my midi controller in 16 pad tune mode.

hi,
im not certain but i dont think it does it automatically, cos its pgm's are in a drum mode, unlike the othe larger mpc's that have key mode pgm's in addition to drum pgm's.

what it sounds like u need to do is create a pgm with the same sample on each key#, tuned chromatically = a limit of 64 notes/keys spread per pgm only though.

Yeah... I've been using Bluebox to do that. Just looking for an easier way out.

16 levels wont help unfortunately...

cause in that mode, each of the 16 levels is actually connected to the same midi note # iirc, just with different adjust on the 'tuning'. (You can check this in the step record)

16 level velocity, could control a synth with vel. routed to pitch...
But that would be pretty "out".
