When playing back sequences with the new OS I will occasionally get a pop or a click randomly out of the main outs and the headphones. I thought it was a clocking noise but it actually sounds like the Metronome is randomly firing. Kind of obnoxious.

I reinstalled the OS and reformatted the HD to no avail.
Checked the Click settings to make sure they are straight.

Any advice?

I've noticed thios on a couple of occasions too, once when it happened all the sound going through my PC died. Had to re-boot the computer but it's only happened once.

Spirez-thanks for the reply.

I need to amend my first post. It isn't random metronome noise, it is just random pops and clicks from the main outputs and headphones. Here is a photo of it from Protools

Also from the S/PDIF output?
Is your MPC earthed?

It happened using the stereo out for me. The SPDIF is linked straight to my turntable for sampling

Have not yet had a chance to test the S/Pdif or the other outputs. The MPC is grounded

Nothing in my setup has changed except for the new O.S

Oh well, just something else to figure out.

In that case try a factory reset (power up while holding ERASE).
See manual page 115 for details.
Maybe it's an extreme FX setting, you got the compressor in the master FX turned off?

Already tried the factory reset.
There are no effects on (sends or master) but when I get home I think I will have to toggle them on and off to see if that helps.

For the record, I was able to stop the popping noise by turning the master effects (eq and comp) on and off again. Don't really know why but it worked.

Really enjoying this new OS. Not a single harddrive saving issue yet.

Good!
The 1k compressor also makes some weird noises (only with extreme settings)

I too have noticed strange pops and clicks coming from the MP (since the upgrade):x

Might be time to talk to Akai.

Do you have your USB cable plugged in? If so, try taking that out and restarting the MPC.

I think that helps with some of the noise.
