compact flash not working

ok i bought a 512 compact flash card i installed the Internal IDE Multi-Card Reader/Writer Model IISDMC it reads my smart media card but not the compact flash card. the name barnd is san disk i dont know if that why

I have a lexar which works in all my friends drives, pc usb and tritons, mpc's.

The jumper settings on the back of the card reader are not correct. Open up the MPC and adjust them according to the IISDMC manual.

dam ethanks but i relized what it was i wasnt pushing the compactflash card in all the way i have to use my nail to get it all the way in but im loveing it i put my mpc2kxl cd rom disk on their and downloaded some drumms off of battery 2 i got drums for days

Got another problem....


i got my ide/atapi device to work (it says atapi instead of floppy), but when i insert the compact flash card (made by transcend) it says Free= 0,0M ... even after formatting (which takes less than a second)

should i buy a kingston flash card?

Are you sure you set the switches on the back of the card reader correctly so it's set to MASTER mode ?

Also if possible check wether there are no bent pins insife de card reader, if all these test are fine then you should indeed try another card or at least try the card in another reader.

OK, i got a kingston card.... same problem.

Srange thing, when i go to "format" the type and manufacturer arent displayed.... just random signs and letters.

and in the load screen, where you see PC listed below.... its just ? ? ? ? ? ? ? in my screen



i am going to try it inside my pc.... maybe the reader is defect

got it to work... my IDE cable was broken

last problem: it works perfectly with my one compact flash card now.... but the other one, i formatted that one with the mpc, and the PC cand find it anymore. so its practically useless now. is there a way to still format it with the PC? it doesnt work for me

I had that problem once, put the card into my digital camera reformatted it there and then i could format it again on my pc.
