PLEASE HELP JACPOT UNDERSTAND PROGRAM CHANGE MESSAGES

Man I put in some OT on the Mpc tonight dog. I'm trying to learn EVERY damn thing about this machine tonight, Ive been on it nonstop for like the last 5 hours Just messing around wit the manual. heres my question.


Ok the 2kxl can use 4 programs at 1 time.
But you can use 128 programs when u use program changes.
I dont fully grasp the concept. Its not explained at all in the manual.
Heres what I did.
I used sounds from all 4 drum programs. Then I created a new program called program 5 samples.

In the step edit screen I inserted a program change message on a new track at step 01.01.00.

Program 5 (the new program) Kicks in only for 8 bars than it drops out when the beat loops back around and changes back to the previous program #4.

Can someone explain why it did that? Please help me figure out program change messages.

Ok so I got the new program to loop. By adding a blank bar before bar #1 then I inserted my program changes their. Then I set the loop points from bars 2-9 So it will only play that blank bar the first time to send the program change message. Now I can get the mpc to play the 5th program but when it does the all the previous programs are cut off and it will only play program 5. what am I doing wrong???

LOL........Sorry dawg I didn't meant to laugh but this line "YO WTF! SOMEBODY HELP ME SHYT!! ALL THE TIMES I HELP U GUYS WHAT THE FUK!!!!" was so true and funny as hell.....damn dawg I wish I knew the answer but I'm still playin catch up and still ain't in the same race....
