I feel like I'm being rushed by the machine

Just got the MPC 1000 today and I'm excited, but I'm having truble keeping up with the two bar setting. When I hit record it starts from 1.00.00 then ends at 2.40.00, or something like that, and I'm having trouble ending my beats so that the timing during the loop sounds good. How do you guys do this. That 2.40.00 is a hard thing to catch, the clock seems to be moving so fast.

slow down your tempo while recording, then readjust it back to where you want it once you're done.

aha, yeah i didn't think that through.

make your bars either 4 or 8 instead of 2. 2 will definitely rush you.

save your internal autoloaded seq to load up an empty initial seq with 4 or 8 bars and see how that treats you.

il give you what i consider to be a good piece of advice that took me a while to realize..... turn the dn click off for the most part and tapp your foot..... it will give you so much better of an understanding of what is going on.... peace. oh shizzz, sorry i mean keep the click and tap your foot to it...

just turn off "loop" when you record and it will add bars on the fly as necessary while you record
