One feature from the RM1x that would be nice in the MPC would be to have a different amount of bars to loop for each track. I.E. track1 = 2bars, track 2=8bars, track 3=4bars, track 4=9bars, etc...

more than one envelope, and more than one lfo per pad.
'all', or 'range' of pads to edit multiple pad parameters at once.
envelope and lfo to control fx parameters, and sample play position.

i reckon these must be possible to implement, but i wonder how much akai would improve their bottom of the range machine, before it appears that it outshines higher range models.

PS. 'bigman' - the loops thing is a decent idea btw, i used to love emagic's creator (old atari version of logic) for that!

Audio tracks, EQ for each pad, and all features of the 2500.

What would be nice and definitely possible::

1. Fix all existing bugs (env decay problem, 'folder error' saving to flash, observed crash/freeze situations)

2. Fix dubious new changes (can't start/stop quickly anymore, tripleclick stop button resets all module patches  )

3. Add all the same improvements that 2.5k is getting. After all it'd be a small effort for Akai to do that. (obviously they can leave out grid edit, chop shop etc.)

What I'd really like but i bet wont happen::

1. sample 'on the fly' ie. record a sample, map it to pad and play it.. all without having to stop the sequence

2. actual pitch envelopes (they aint there, are they?)

3. true sample-accurate timing (not gonna happen :) )

4. auto-chromatic. (so easy to program but they seem to love not putting that in ;) )

Make it compatible with Akai, Roland, and EMU programs and samples.

i think they should make a user profile.like on the 2000 so it saves your normal bar settings and tempo.that would be nice.
