the MPC1000 needs 'Shift Timing'

i would like to send this to Akai, to a contact i have been dealing with for the past few weeks.

It has this operation under a different name and has been extensively discussed already. Like always, use the search feature of the forum.

how can this be done - by moving the notes?
The search engine on this forum seems to suck, I get 680 results for shift timing...

agreed on the search, it doesn't search correctly for me... any kind of SHIFT TIMING is done in SEQUENCE EDIT. It'd be nice to just highlight the NOW field of the event and change the time, but its still doable so I won't complain.

LOL, stop blaming the search software and instead blame the searcher...

If you read the search instructions (the ones to the left of the search box) it will explain how to use the search function.

To search for 'shift timing' enter the following :

shift and timing

I get 41 results using this method. If you enter just 'shift timing' it will search for all instances of 'shift', all instances of 'timing' and all instances of 'shift timing'.

Trust me, there's nothing wrong with the search engine on this site - unfortunately some people don't seem to want to read the instructions...

not to be funny but all the time u took to tell them that u could of aswered the question. i thought that what this sight was about now we have the tutor jigging on use poor uninformedmpc users

Well, I think spending 5 minutes explaining how to use the search function on the site is time well spent - imagine how many questions get answered again and again becuase people don't know how to search correctly? Also, note the smiley at the end - it wasn't vindictive.

Also, I don't have an MPC1000 - so I cannot answer any specifics on the OS.

I hope your post was tongue in cheek becasue the last thing I need at the moment is a lecture on not being helpful - do you realise how much time I have spent buidling this site?

You know it's a useless argument. Many of the questions asked about MPC's can be found in the manual for the MPC, which they did not bother to read. What makes us think that they would read the instructions for the search feature also?

i just need the support from other mpc 1000 users.

hopefully with more supoort i can try to push akai (who i have already spoken to on this matter) and try to prove that it is a feature we all need.

the output may lead to a future OS update.

do no forget that the 1000 is new at the moment...only we can make it a better product.

today nothing...tommorow timestretch may be added, and next even shift timing.

so please put support into this.

Who said there was no 'shift timing'?
If you go to SEQ EDIT and do TrMOVE for any specified note (or all of them), isn't that 'shift timing'?
