weird files that come up in hd?

anyone else seen these files come up in your hd?

it has the first word of one of yoru sample names (ex, money) and then

~10.W01

these .W files will go up to .W15 and higher...even crossing over into .WA1

what the hell is this?

yeah, i'm starting to get freaked out.

i can't back up my hd for some reason. i've been trying to do it for a couple days, and it'll get halfway through and then randomly say that such a such a file is corrupted and that i can't transfer it.

what the hell is going on?

do you use patched phrase? if so, maybe it's the pieces?

nope...no patched phrase. some of these files are cropping up in pre os 2 songs...

oh. not sure then sorry. try transferring files to the cf card, then backing that up.

i'm getting REALLY worried, occasional files of mine are getting called corrupted, including crucial wavs...

sh*t! these are all hard drive files yes?

i think i know wat it is....... i think its some kind of recycle file like off of your rycycle bin... not the program. cus when i open the mpc in the computer it says that so i just delete it and it works fine but i havent triend to backup in a while.

i'm all about backing my hd up...i do it once a week.

i just reordered my hd folders so hopefully this'll solve the problem. i just don't like the looks of it...yes, modnar they were hd files...which is precisely why i was worried.

i'll let you know if i solve this.

funny - MARACAS 004, which is apparently corrupted, plays fine on my mpc.
weirdness.

funny. corrupted files still play on my mpc, and when i save em somewhere else and just drag and drop em into the folder, everything works fine again.

regardless, i'm gonna format my mpc hard drive tonight just in case.

sparq, do you have any idea what this is about? heard/seen this before?
