Tha Saint wrote:Updating your plugins should have nothing to so with syncing with PT. You have midi beat clock on right? What about with the 1k? Do you have midi sync setttings ayite with that? Check your 1k's mixer and ensure your associated pads your using are headed to a stereo out or mono 1-2 for example. If you have you aux input in PT setup as mono and your pads in 1K aren't set to this, you could hear nothing. In PT, do you have mpc setup as input filter. I have no problems with gettin audio to PT, but midi's another story when trying to get midi data 'on the fly' so to speak. The alternative route you can do here, which I find pretty useful is to save your sequence as a midi file, go into PT, import the file, set you ins and outs properly and you should be in business. Hope this helps yo

You have a point about saving as a midi file and then importing into pro tools.

As for the plugins...im wondering about an update for pro tools le 7...will my waves work with that. went off topic.

Thanks everyone!

Yes I updated to 7.0 and my waves worked fine. You might have to spend an evening re-authorizing some of your waves at most but within 24 hrs you'll be back in business, and thats IF you run into authorization problems like I did. But the crew at waves got you on file so if you run into trouble yo covered ya know? So get the update. They made some positive changes with midi too that you'll probaly enjoy. Hope this helps
PAYCE!!

That certainly is a weird one. I had my MPC1k working with PTLE6.4 without a hitch and it's been stable ever since up until 7.0. Sorry I cant help

ok, so exactly how did you have your configuration set? were/are you using a mac or pc?

By Jenre Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:12 am
I'm using a PC, midisport 4x4, mpc1k and pt le7

Midi out A of MPC1k into midi in A on midisport.
Midi out A of midisport into midi in A on MPC1k.
MPC set to sync in: 1 and sync out: A
In Pro Tools 7 (the menus are different in PT6.4, you'll have to check the manual where to find it) go to Setup>MIDI>MIDI Beat Clock
Tick 'enable midi beat clock' box and then tick the correct midi port, in this case midi out A

It's that simple. Or at least it should be.

For some reason in my life......nothing is never as simple as it should be. lol, but thats ok....cuz you learn new things when you are havin troubles.

All those steps have been takin in enabling midi beat clock in pro tools le 6.4.

Now the mpc is actually starting at the same time....but the mpc only plays for like 4 bars and stops....I tried various ways of playing it...loop on ..loop off...etc.

WOMP WOMP.

You got my sympathy man. I don't want to upset you further but you really are missing out.

Have you tried ringing Digidesign tech support?

I have not tried that step yet....maybe a good idea. thats for sure...one question...when pro tools and mpc sync up....since pro tools is the master are you still able to retain the mpc time and feel from the click?

By Jenre Fri Mar 03, 2006 11:02 am
Pro Tools only controls when the MPC starts and stops. The rest is down to the MPC. So yeah, you keep all the good MPC feeling
