Transferring Midi tracks to Audio tracks in PT 6??

I just started using PT 6, and ive havin probs...

The problem arises when I want to transfer a midi track, to an audio track so that i can do further processing on it [you know like add effects, etc]. After 5 hours of searching on digi forums & 'manual time', i haven't been able to find an answer.

I know about disabling Low Latency Mode for bouncing, but i'm really just trying to transfer the midi track into a audio track

The only thing i can think of is to do: record the audio output back into the input [of the audio track] and solo the MIDI track and record it to a muted Audio Track. But wouldn't this create drastic feedback? Is there another way to do this . Any help is much appreciated guys, thanks!!!!!

There's a couple of ways to do this, are you trying to record outboard gear that you sequenced in PT or are you trying to record a soft synth that you sequenced in PT?

Softsynths, im using softsynths. What i've been doing sucessfuly is using an Aux & midi track, in PT. I have been able to to record (and playback) into PT 6 just fine. Now its just for the transferring process thats whooping my butt... thanks for the posts..if u can help some more i'd really appreciate it , thankx!

To record the track as audio just create a stereo audio track and run the output of the track the soft synth is on to the audio tracks input. The output from the soft synth should be a stereo bus(3-4 for example) and the input on the audio track should be the same(bus 3-4). Record enable the audio track and hit record+ play on the transport(or just hit f12, it's much easier), the audio track should start recording the output from the soft synth.

So in this particular method there is no need/not possible to setup a MIDI track?

Sorry to say it didnt work . I followed the instructions carefully: On the Aux track i inserted vsti, in the output selection scrreen i sent it to bus 5-6. For the audio track the input was bus 5-6, and its out went to my main outs.

For the Aux track should the input be set to "No input", like when you are using rewire? Should the midi track be setup in a certian way? For the midi track i had the Input 'to all', and the output to the vsti channel im using.

No i cant even record midi like before and be able to play it back!! Arrgh this is sooo frustatring. The softsynth im using is CSV80 .http://www.arturia.com/en/cs80v.lasso

It seems like you everything setup correctly, I'm not sure why it's not working.

I was able to get it to work..if anyone is interested i created a MS word doc detailing the setup...PM me if u want it...peace..and thanks for the help
