i had pops and clicks for a while with the old os. i turned off the effect and no problem, i have used the master effects with no problem. That is ok the 2500 effects aren't that good anyways.

You may have a defective unit. I have never had this issue with this or the older OS.

I doubt the unit is defective considering multiple people are having the same problem at the same time after doing the same thing.

I notice this occurs when recording through spdif analog is cool

go figure.

Drifting off course a bit. . .
The issue is not hardware if this problem didn't exist prior to the O.S. update.

Like I said, these issues only appeared after the o.s. update on a unit that was working fine (except for those other 73 bugs they fixed!).

After going through the settings and toggling the fx on and back off, most of the snaps and crackles were gone. This is not an uncommen problem on a unit when effects are completely controlled by soft buttons so it was no real surprise.

However, I still had the Pops! The only other thing I had changed setup-wise since the O.S. update was to leave the USB in. After disconnecting it the MPC sounded clean.

NewMP: If you are getting these noises inputing through S/PDIF you most likely have some sample rate mismatch. MPC is 44.1kHz. Make sure your device sending the sound is set at the same.

I too have heard these pops w/ 1.1. Completely random. However, yesterday I played for a few hours with no pops. Only difference was I had input thru turned on? Go figure.

Nope the 1820 M says 44.1

And what makes this even worse remember when i said analog "was cool" i'm playing back the "cool" sample I recorded and... Snap Crackle Pop.

Hey emjay I don't know what made you turn input thru on but thanks. For some reason or another it worked the pops and clicks disappeared. We all know this is a quick fix Akai needs to tighten up their sh@t!

grrr.

need to sort this out, do some more scientific tests.

problem is it happens randomly - can be fine for an hour then do a few clicks and be fine again for the next hour, or sometimes its every 30 secs or something.

sounds like pops and crackles on vinyl...

not even sure which outs its comingt from yet. has anyone else got any further diagnosing / isolating this one??

Subvertbeats do you still get the crackles and the pops? If you are recording digitally try removing the cables.
