Midi data missing after recording on MPC2000xl

Hey, i love using my mpc2000xl as a sequencer. Only problem is, i record data (notes, knob movements, ect), and when i play back. Alot of the time the data will be missing or dropped. And when i play the sequence twice, it'll apear again. I know on the MC-303 i HAD, keyword HAD, there was a function to smooth this out and fix it, but i'm not sure if there is one on the mpc, nore can find anything on it. What can i do to fix this?

You could try in step edit to delete events that are double an thus un necessary, for example 2 pitch shift events witht the same values that follow each other are un necessary and just clog up the midi channel. Unfortunately there is no function to do that automatically in te mpc 2kxl (AFAIK)

Thanks man, it's because i had overlapped knob movements. I went into step edit and got rid of it all, took a while, but everything runs smoothly now (even the movements). Thanks again!

I take that back, it's not as bad, but it still does it. And it even gets worse when i use cubase/computer as my master to control the mpc and e verything else. Any input is completly appriciated, i really want to get this song to harddisk.

you should check in your setup wether you have no so-called midi loops tts midi signals that get recorded in the mpc get sent out again and make it back into the mpc and thus create a midi 'feedback' that will also clog up your midi channels.

I got you, yeah, i think the channels are deffinitly getting clogged by something. However, i don't have any loops going on. It possibly could be my cables. I'm thinking i should maybe invest in some Monster MIDI cables, see if that'll clear it up.
