I use this tool http://msgbox.de/publish/setup_bpm.zip , it's in german, but it has the highest accuracy, and you can choose which part of the song you would like to analyze.

yeah, nice one - BUT it seems to work only with .mp3's not with wav-files - which is not very pleasant.

Do you just use .mp3's or is there a way to incorporate wav-files without encoding them to mp3?
