What am I supposed to make out of that linked thread yo :)

I don't see why the one guy would advocate _recording_ at less than max amplitude (I always thought recording at max without clipping makes the most sense, then you get a quality signal and you can always reduce the volume if you must).

But regarding normalizing, I realize now that I know less then I should about how the summing process works in the MPC. Of course, I prefer to track out indiv. tracks so I figure why not have each track turned up as loud as possible without clipping the output...

Anyone want to comment further?

why not normalize when the beats tracked out to cubase, or whatever you use? i do all that in cubase, fx normalizing, compressors and bla bla
