Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok, heres the deal, quite some time back i expanded my xl to have the 8 outs, but i've only just decided to make use of the digital ins/outs....

BUT my problem is, the jack size for the digi in/out, is 1/4" jack.
now i have heard peeps in other countries that have the 8 outs, say their jack size for the digi, is RCA??? now i need to connect this to an rca coaxail jack on my pc, but a lead that starts with a 1/4" jack?

just phoned some cable store, and the guy said they dont hold a cable like that, but a normal 1/4" to rca would transmit the digi signal fine???
i ordered the 8 outs from a german company (thomman/netzmart) it wasnt very expensive, but should the digi in/out on the mpc be rca jack size? and not what i have!! 1/4"!!??? the 8 outs work just fine, its just this digi business.......

thanks

The digital outs are s/pdif and should be RCA jacks. Two channels flow on each cable.

so why are the digital ins & outs , the size of 1/4" jacks? it clearly says underneat them, 'digital in' and 'digital out'.
so is this 'out' expansion board that i purchased manufactured wrong?!! becuase the 8 outs work just fine nahd have done for quite some time, ilm just very confused about the size of the digi jacks!

I dunno man, sounds like something's odd there. Did you buy the expansion board new or used? If it was used then something fishy is goin' on, maybe it was modded by the folks who had it. All I knows is the standard digital connections are as such

S/PDIF = 75 ohm RCA coaxial (& sometimes Optical too!)
AES/EBU = XLR
Lightpipe/Adat/Toslink = OPITCAL
T/DIF = TDIF mulitpin plugs (I think they're DB25)
Word Clock = BR59 75 ohm
