the current low price for mpc2xl mcd new

whats the cheapest you can get a new mpc2000xl mcd new? I know they are listed at 1600, but i was wondering what the cheapest someones got it for and where.

I was thinking of price matching with musicfriend, and looking to get it down to like 1100 or so.

AKAI current line forces you to buy MPC-2000xl and 4000 used, the price new is a questionable value.
A new MCD is almost the price of a 2500, and a 4000 has yet to be determined a dead product or product with a future so they are maybe not the best value.
If you want to buy a MCD new try your local GC or Sam Ashe to see if they have taken any in on trade so you could get a used one that you can check out.
Most stores that still have any MCD's in stock are asking too much, most already purged their inventory prior to the 2500's release.

I paid 1300 from GC. In my opinion its worth it. Fuk the 2500 I like my mcd better for some reason it feels more "solid"

Ive owned 2 mpc2xls..with zip. I sold them andn bought a mpc4000. I then ran into some cash problems. I Just sold my mpc4000 a few weeks ago.

Now i got a fantom x6 and I am gonna get another mpc. I was gonna get a mpc2500 but if i can get a mpc2xl mcd for cheap im gonna get that.

After owning the mpc4000 and mpc2xl, i realize what i actually need. I dont need to spend 2600 on another mpc4000 as there where some features I hardlly used. Even after getting to know my mpc4000 I really liked the mpc2xl feel alot better...even though I liked some mpc4000 features (like the hard drive and more filters)....and all the actual features i need are on the mpc2500

so that leaves me with the 2500 vs 2xl mcd


Ive seen the 2500 for 1600.......but the 2xl for 1300 seems nice. I dont really need much more than the mpc2xl

anyways, i totally know what youre sayin about the feel of the mpc2xl. Thats what i liked about it. The only real feature ill miss on the 4000 are the extra filters. Everything else i can work around easily.

$1300 for a MCD against a $1650 for a 2500 makes no sense if you think about it.
Just think about the differences between the two.
New or not a MCD past $1100 is wasted funds.
If you buy a MCD new at $1300 I hope that's with the 8-out and EB included.
Also Jackpot did you pay the $1300 since the 2500 has been out?

All I am trying to get at is there is a h*ll of a lot of difference for $300.
I can understand the 4k not fitting but really the 2500 is still in the same vein as the 2k.
It not what the 2k can't do it more about what the 2500 adds for minimal cost difference.

Spend some time with the 2500 manual then go check it out a few times, you will probably see the $300 being worth it.
Just the extra MIDI outs would be worth it if you add another synth or sampler.
Again I'm not knocking the MCD just the price.

im talking about feel and workflow. ive used the 2500 and its cool. i'd rather save 300. As far as extra midiouts, I have no use. It would have helped me out 6 months ago when I was a midi head, but now I rarely use my fantom and when I do I sample the sounds so I can tweak them in the mpc. Right now im realy digging the mpc sound over modules So Ill just continue to sample into the mpc off my fantom If I choose to do so. I think Im gonna sell my fantom though since I never use it anymore. Only thing I use the midi outs for is syncin with MTC. The 2500 harddrive doesnt impress me because a 1 gig flash card serves the purpose of a harddrive for me if you wanna call it that. I dont like the color of the 2500 or the data wheel either. But like I said its a cool machine but I wouldnt need it. xl feels more solid. As far as 8 outs is concerend. It bought a broke 2000 off ebay stripped the 8 outs and memory from it fixed it and sold it for more than I bought it for.

i called gc ahead of time, claimed to be someone i wasnt, drove there and walked out of gc with 2 512 mb cards, a 2kxlmcd and i spent a little less than 1000.

i wish i knew then what i know now. the same dude offered me a mpc3000, used for 650........i woulda got both of em if i knew.....

When I bought mines they through in a 1g flash card, 3 midi cables and 4 1/4 plugs.

Im like a cable collecter every time I go to GC i have them throw in some extra cables. You can never have too many

my man does a lot of PR work for a major label out here and i see how he eats off that s hit in every aspect of his life. free gear, free drinks @ bars/clubs etc just on the strength of a couple ppls names. so i gave it a shot and it worked. i offered the dude who sold it to me some free promotion, and told him id call him back with the details.............

rite now im workin on gettin my gear right for the spring using these technics. i cant go into specifics, but so far so good......

i think it worth buying new you have full warrnty and you dont have to worry about the person your buying from on ebay. ive know people to beat up their machines then sell them once their banged up. i think you should go with your budget if you can afford new then hit up gc if not take another route
