Hmmm, was that necessary? Maybe instead I don't like paying $300 for $19 dollars worth of effects. Maybe I like to run my drums through vocoder that is NOT provided with the EB16. Maybe I like to use my tape echo VST for dub work. Maybe some people would like to get some info on alterntives to weak gear like the EB16.

Some of you guys guys have some real problems treating people with respect around here... that's a fact.

I said it before and I'll say it again the EB is hard to beat and easy to get from $100-200.
If you are a preset type person then the EB is not a good choice.
If you understand effects and processing then it's like having a third arm, just allows you to do things you would have to much trouble doing another way.

Many MPC users don't use computers or don't like the sound VST plugs produce.
If you think VST plugs sound good just compare them to the Power Core or UAD plugs (let alone HD) and you'll hear a difference.


Anyway back to the thread which was about people who like the EB and are discovering how it can be a benefit to incorporate it intop their sampling.

i like the eb16.. the distortion and verbs definitely help thicken a mix up nice.
& while we're still on topic . .
anyone have, or know where to find a schematic for the fx board?

no you can only save two eq settings; M1 and M2.
make sure you use R1 or R2 for reverb so you can still use the other effects;

I got one for sale. A description:

" The multi-effects channels provide distortion, EQ, ring modulation, a choice of modulation effects that includes chorus, phasing, flanging, pitch shifting, and rotary speaker emulation, as well as echo/delay and reverb. The reverb-only channels add 2 additional reverbs for a total of 4 independent reverbs. All EB16 effects are extensively editable and custom multi-effects configurations can be stored in 50 effect presets. An additional 50 presets are reserved just for reverbs.

Although the EB16 can add spectacular effects to single programs, its true power becomes evident when it is used in Multi Mode. Here it is configured as four processors, each with its own effects bus. Each Multi Mode Part can be routed, with its own independent send level, to one of the processors. In this way, an entire multitimbral composition, complete with mix and effects, can be executed entirely in the digital domain and routed through the digital outputs directly to DAT or to an Akai digital disk recorder."

Thanks, I read the chapter on the EB16. That still does not address the fact that you and several other people on this board treat people like shit for trying to contribute. What are you going to do, attack or ban me for trying to help out; for giving people an alternative way to do something?
