Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have an 2000xl and I'm sick of losing beats and sounds because of zip disks going bad. I think I'm cursed because this happens way way too often. So, what are my options and what would you do?

Isn't there a way to convert my floppy drive to flash drive? But then again I don't really want to lose my floppy drive even thought it's dated technology. I still go sounds on quite a few floppies that I like to grab every now and again.

I guess I could be a scsi hard drive to replace my zip drive. I thought about even copping the xl-mcd or shooting for the 4000. But I'm sure my problem can be solved without going all new. But then again, maybe it'll be worth it. I don't know.

What would you all do?

One option would be to buy an external drive (zip/hd). Save all your files to the ext. drive media. Then take that internal floppy/zip (:?) the **** out and install a card reader .
