2000 Data wheel on a 2000xl

Yo anyone ever attempt to put a 2000 data wheel on an xl? You think it would be possible? Im up for the challenge if someone has an Idea cause I got an extra xl lying around in the closet I like to experiment on.

It would be so fuking phat if the xl had the 2000 data wheel. It would be like the hottest MPC out period

You might have already answered your own question, but give it a try. I'm sure it isn't that hard if you've taken your cover off before and installed other things.

data wheel on the classic has that outer data ring.

data wheel on the xl doesn't have the hardware/software for that data outer ring function.

you won't have the 2k classic outer ring functionality.

someone else I know wanted to do that same thing a long time ago, he has a classic and I have a 2kxl, I took both apart and showed him the difference in architecture, the wheel on the classic has an outer ring that the 2kxl does not. Sorry man..

It would be a good feature though, you are right.. my boy cried the rest of the night when I showed him that..

Yeah I know about the outer ring. I would be sick if it would be compatible. of course u would need to tweek the xl software. I think im gonna try and do something to make it work

That is interesting that you post this, because I had a classic and did not like the dual ring. It seemed to slow me down. Now I wouldn't mind if the knob on my XL didn't look like a 1974 Pontiac ball joint bushing. I will agree with the popular opinion here... not really practically possible.
