im soon getting a 1k, will i need to buy a harddrive, or will i be ok with what it comes with?... if i do need one, which one? and is it easy to hook up?

any advise pls.

You don't need one but it gives you more flexibility and makes it a lot easier to save files etc. Plus you can get a 40gb hard drive for around the same price as a 1gb CF card so it's worth it in money per gb terms.

Means you can spend more time away from the PC too, just load up thousands of samples into it and you can make a whole song quickly and easily within the unit.

But does the hard drive replace the CF card slot on the 1k? If so that sucks, if not i'll shut my mouth :lol:

Personally though, i think you're better off maxing out the RAM first

forgive me for being dumb, cos i dont have a clue... can i just buy a big cf card to keep samples on, and maybe have a few of them if i wanted with different samples on?

I don't see why not. Just gets pricy compared to a harddrive.
