I've just followed Sanders cardreader guide, and it works really good. Using a 512 mb CF-card from Dane-Elec, and the same cardreader as Sander.

Thanks to Sander and other replies....

Be sure to use this link, because I found the same reader in the same shop, with the same article number also for 39 euro???

what would be the advantage of replacing this from my zip?

Hi Sander (and others)

i bought the exact same product from the exact same shop... installed it, put an SD card in (dont have a CF lying around).

When i try to load, it says "floppy drive not present" (no **** ;) ), it does not change to ATAPI... i have changed the jumper to "master" before installing (it was in "master+slave" when i got it out of the box), the power seems to work (green light lights up when inserting a card).

oh and i updated to 1.14c before changing the drive

any ideas what could be wrong?

OK i solved it (the reader gets recognised, i still have to test it with a CF-card)

Turns out i wasnt running 1.14 C - but 1.20. I installed that right after i bought it, and it was still 1.10 or something like that. I re-attached my floppy disc (thank god for me leaving the power supply of it intact) and installed 1.14 - then re-attached the reader and it got recognised right away.

still gives me a message of "not ready" but there no card in there yet, so that will be my first buy tomorrowmorning
