taking a piece of a sample

i was trying to keep my sample that i have and take a piece of it to use with that same sample(the whole sample). i tried doing it, but it just changed the pad from having the whole sample to having the piece i just cut assigned to it. so, how do i have the whole sample on one pad and then the piece i just cut from it on another???

after i copied the sample i cant find it? where does it go

It goes into the user memory. You need to go into the program screen and assign the sound to a pad

What mpc are you using?

i know that on my 2k, when i save a new sound or something, it goes to the front of the list. like when i go into program mode, the new sound is right up front in the list.

I got the 1000. i did everything but still cant find it. i see it when i go press MODE then PROGRAM but i cant assign it to a pad

why not? press the pad you want then scroll to the sound you want on that pad. im assuming its the same as the 2k as far as assigning samples
