I own the 1k and es rack. What you might need to do is set up your sounds in multi mode. This allows you to set up 16 sounds (parts) and assign them to 16 midi channels. Save the multi and the parts are set. Now, name each track as the multi sounds 1-16. On the 1k,
mode: midi/sync
active track receive channel: ALL
soft thru: as track
sync out A or AB
change track- should change sound
you mentioned the midi connects are str8 so no need to retype.

I think it would have something to do with Midi thru. You might wanna check to see if that is on on all of the machines.

how do i get into multi mode?

hit the multi key on the rack ....... it is next to the voices key...... i think you have to push the multi key twice.....or at least til it turns red.......after that ..... you are set......there are all the 16 channels........use the up and down arrows to go to different banks and then turn the dial to find the sounds......i hope this helps.......if not let me know.,.......AND THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME ON THIS

I was having that issue w. my MotifRackES even in multi mode. I just save the settings anytime I change anything in the Motif. I think the MPC is sending program change and controller change info.
