I need the lowdown.. The truth and nothing but the truth!

no kidding, man. i take em for granted now! i would have killed for em before. i haven't taken em to full advantage yet. i need to get on that.

This is one of the best pieces of musical equipment I've ever owned. It's fantastic.

I've had mine for just under 2 years; a couple of pads have lost sensitivity, but overall it's been a fantastic investment. If I knew then what I know now, I'd buy it again.

had mine for just over a week.

build is good.

pads are good

sequencing and feel are good.

i've dropped in a 256meg bit of ram and os2.1 and its all good.

after using it with os1.07 and 2.10 version 2.10 offers loads of features...

its currently the second most used bit of kit in my rig, the other one being a voyager....

The only thing I don't like is the data wheel....that statement should say alot.

My other sampler is an Emu which is nice for some things, but I always come back to the 1k for drums, if not for the COMPLETE beat!!! (even tho I have other synths available).

I've literally gone a whole day behind the boards, no food, no shower(ewwww), just for the sake of not wanting to lose my groove. This is what I do. Im no where near great, but I have earned respect from those who's opinions matter to me.

Noticed your location. What parts of DC you from? Im from MD, but DC is more recognizable on a global scale.

I've had the 1000 for over a week now. After many sleepness nights, Ive figured everything out. It was hell at first. I am a software producer naturally(Reason 3.0, Sonar, many plug-ins). We never realize how lazy software can make us. The MPC gives me a hands on approach and allows me to make music on a more aural aspect as opposed to a visual, click and point aspect. I can learn to get used to it. Everything on my page was made with Reason 3.0 though.

i'm 15 min outside DC, in fairfax. it's ok, but i hope to get the hell out of here and into some big city soon.

software reallly can make you lazy, ESPECIALLY with sampling. i used reason 2.5 and acid 4.0. i actually started making beats on acid 2.0. it sucked, but it was how i had to do things.

I started making beats with the amazing "sound blaster awe 64" card, using cubasis (not cubase) and loading samples from Future Music magazine CDs into the Soundfont engine .
