is it really simple to change the pads on the mpc 2500 ?
ive got a choice of yellow or red bad boys here, but im kind of dubious bout opening the thing up incase i dont fit the new ones properly and end up with a goosed machine, some one let us know and it would be much appreciated.

it's piss easy, once you have the cover off, there is a 'sheet' of pads which you just pull out of the cover, and then replace with the new one! i'm not too sure how to take the cover off the 2500, but i'm sure it's only a few screws.

i orderes mines from the vst technology site that i found out about through this site, a yellow and a red set had to be bought to see which looked sickest !!

well thats it done, the beast 2500 with the bad boy yellow pads !!! theres 3 words i certainly wouldnt use tho deb, peice of piss !!! the pads were easy enuff to change over but there were screws in that cover that were as hard to find as a gals g spot, truss me !!!!
a **** cut finger of the sharp edges didnt help, i only hope the memory and cd rom are no bother.
oh well im away to bash some pads !!!!!

Post pics of the red too! Would go well with the buttons that light up red and the record/overdub buttons

Del how much did the pads cost all in including shipping to the UK?

As i'm about to change my pads as well I tried to open it already today and took some pics along. The hardest to find screws are most likely the ones on the front. You'd have to find a slender screwdriver to reach them through a hole in the bottom. There are 3 of them actually.

By the way Spirez, shipping to germany was about 26 $ for 2 sets of pads from VST...

Cool, anyone thought of ways to change the data wheel yet too?

That's the only thing that i dont like on the 2500

That's what it looks like when the data wheel is off. I don't think there's an easy replacement for this, doesn't look like the simple encoder in a 2000XL.

Anybody doing this as well, be careful when you put the datawheel back on...even though it doesn't look like it, it has to sit in a certain position or it won't be far enough down, so the cover will press onto the rim preventing it from turning when you close the cover again!

I emailed Forat a few months ago. He said that he hasn't customized any MPC 2500s yet. I am tempting to let him take a shot at mine. Maybe I will just have it painted all black and gold and throw a Pittsburgh Steelers logo on it or something............

yep thats the shit right there steb by step, but i was worried bout chipping the paint or bending the casing, ima get some photos shortly, yo spirez it aint too expensive for shipping and that have a look at the site its all in there mate .
