How to get my external zip drive to be read MPC 3000 related

First off, please forgive me, because I know this has been covered, and I did search before starting a new thread, but the ones I found sitll didn't answer my question.

I've got a 3000 and an external zip that I'm trying to get it to read
I followed all the instructions that we're given in the thread I found when I searched but it still doesn't read it, I try to format, put it on auto and all that,

what am I doing wrong?

A: which OS version are you running in ROM ?

B: what type of ZIP drive is connected ?

--- A "pure" SCSI model ?

--- A "hybrid" PLUS model ?

--- A 100 or 250 meg version ?

--- If 250 meg version what size cart are you trying to use ?

C: When the MPC3000 can't communicate with a disk correctly it returns a plain English failure message along with an ERROR number ( EG : FFXX, XXX, XXX, XXX ).

What are the messages and error numbers reported.
