Buying Samples?

If you can sample anything yourself with your MPC, why buy samples? This could be a dumb question.

Depends what samples you are buying though.

Anyway, I am pretty set on getting the mpc 1000. I already have 2CDJ 1000 turntables and a mixer that I think will work to hook up my mpc and my turntables. What would be the next, most essential thing you guys think I would need?

Sell the CDJs and buy a turntable.

In my opinion the next thing would be something to hear it all through... Monitors or other speakers. But seeing as you have this DJ gear you might have speakers already.
Theres' nothing more that you need. What you want might be a different story, though... I'd suggest waiting 'til you get your MPC, spend a few months (at least) learning it, and then see what you want to be able to do that you can't with the current setup.

why is it a dumb question then?

because its not easy to find a decent sample to use in aa track, it takes years to learn how to sample, and some sample cds have good clean samples that were recorded real nice and would be basicaly impossible to find on a record or whatever eg: drum hits or bass loops.

Don't forget what happens if you don't get your samples cleared. Ask Tone Loc what Van halen did to his ass!!!!!
