Benefits and doubts..

I`m thinkin about buying a 2500...
Got an 2000XL.

What is the benefits and doubts bout this switch? To go from a 2000XL to a 2500?

Do the 2500 got the same "Step-Edit" functions as the old 2000XL?
Do the 2500 got the same "feel" and "groove" when it comes to rythms? (of course you make your own rythms, but some of you might know what I´m talkin´bout.)
And so on...

And one more: With the 2500, can I burn whole beats on to a audio-CDR?

If the MPC 2000XL does everything you need it to, you will feel ike a kid in a Candy Store it you switch to the 2500. The 2500 practically improves on every function that the 2000XL has and has added over a dozen new features. Take a look around the forum..there are quite a few threads about the added functions.

Yes, you can burn your tracks onto a CD-R with the 2500.

One thing that it doesn"t have is Auto chromatic tuning , That i miss real bad. Layering samples is a bit different not a bad thing just different. The work flow is improved . Much quicker to get down with , the chop and pached phrase features save a lot of time. Other than that it's an MPC through and through.

I own a 2500. If you do a lot of Midi work, it's lacking that it can only send Midi Clock. The 2500 does not send or recieve MTC, and cannot send MMC. There's a post going around on this right now.

this would only limit you from being able to sync with other sequencers, correct?

Most other sequencers can sync and transmit MIDI clock..
