my homie brought his mpc 2000 (notxl) over to my house to day

he was doing something with mute assign

where he was able to mute a track when he hit another pad

feature is DOPE

can it be done?

maybe using a silenced sample on one pad to cut off the samples on others?

no

you dont understand

when you hit one pad it automatically cuts off another pad

im not talking about track mute

if you playing a sample , you hit a pad with another sample and that sample cuts off the other sample.

2000 heads know what im talking about

Look up Mute Groups in the manual... there's your answer.

actually the function is called mute target in the 1000

Mute Group and Mute Target are 2 different features that are on the 1k. Mute Target is new to OS 2.1
