who hoooks ups sp1200 directly to the computer tho? that's not utilizing the sp1200...

there's many recording variables u have to take into consideration too...

if u don't utilize a mixer tho you're not utilizing the sp1200... sp1200 partly is about it's individual outs...:o

sorry i'm playin the devil's advocate... but i've done the same type thing with pros, and there's so many things u gotta take into consideration.

btw there's a few things on that that are audibly tellable that are using more than an sp1200....

also since it's a sampler, it's hard to actually have it "sp1200 only" actually technically impossible...

btw, u can tell by xayeile's entry... it has a 25 second sample inthe begining. that'd be possible if he was sampling on 78, and then what would have very little room for the rest of his shit....:o

sorry to call out ya gotta watch these things meng...

I made my beat out of entirely sp1200 - it's possible!

And your intro obviously don't count against the beat itself.....if you wanna include some shit off of vinyl to introduce your composition-- that's straight, just as long as the beat itself does not contain more than the alloted 10 seconds of sample time.

Don't worry, you're not blowing up his spot in anyway...We were all well aware of the exceeding length...also, there were quite a few kats that entered this past Sunday's battle whom did not follow the rules--- they were a bit sketchy anyhow...no biggie....the new rules have been posted.

This battle is to help extend the creative boundaires of the SP and its users.

Using 10 seconds of sample time is tough as hell! Let's see whatchu got~!

good job columbo. intro dont count. his beat was made wiht less than ten seconds of samples. rules were a lil blurry for the first week so we could just get things rolling. but all the beats were basically real short sample time. i will refrain from the term suckers when some cats drop beats.
