yes, that is what connects the HDM10 to the mpc

I know that is the connector. I just wanted to know the name or type of this connector.

Examples:

An MPC2000 has a DB25 / SCSI-1 female on the back
A 2000XL has a HD50 / SCSI 2 female or SCSI-2 on the back
An XL has a 50 pin SCSI male inside.

What's the name of the one inside the MPC1000 or the name of the one on the drive kit?

It's probably a proprietry connector, hence having to have an adaptor to connect a laptop drive to it.
