Wow ...looks like U assembled a whole boat load of gear+Software w/ no clue as to what they do or how they work.

For your own sake, go and learn a bit more about all the stuff you have before you post such a question.

These kinds of posts amaze me so much that I find it hard to believe that they are real and not a hoax. A newbie with a 4000 and no idea what it does? Man.....

To any newbies considering buying an MPC and/or sh!t loads of other very expensive/complicated gear......get a clue BEFORE you drop crazy money.

Like someone else said, go buy a $150 drum machine (Boss DR-660 is great to learn on) and learn the basics of programming, MIDI, etc.
And THEN once you know the basics and you know exactly what you want to accomplish, you'll be ready to drop some real dough on some next level equipment.

Seriously keep all your receipts unless your a spoiled kid, I can see you returning it in the near future when you learn how hard making music really is

First thing is dedication, there are loads of information on the internet, search for it and read it, and it will be a long time before you are any good so I hope you plan on learning everyday for the next couple of years

okay, here we go, bro, unless you have more specific questions, try this first:
connect your cd player/tape/turntable to your MPC 4000, go to the samplescreen, and check out how to sample stuff into your 4K. Learn how to assign those sounds to the pads, and just play around a little bit.

Hey Frogtown, I wasn't trying to dis too hard...but it's apparent that you don't even know WHY you chose to buy a 4000 if you don't even know how to hook it up or what it's capable of. I just wish I could drop a blind $2300 on something and then think about it later.

Well, there's something to be said for learning to crawl before you try and run. A simple drum machine can teach you all the basics without having to worry about the more complex stuff yet.......and if you only spend $150 and then find out you don't like or don't have the talent for making beats....you've saved yourself over $2000.
But, it seems that for you money is no object.

Well, anyway. Read the manual. Read the manual again.....and keep reading it. That's my advice from here on out.

Get the reference manual and all the addedums(mispelled)

Study all this shit (Really great articles on sampling/synth make sure you study those they are important, study and get some mixing experience)

Last remember me, and if you get big atleast buy me a house, cause no one else woulda took care of you that good

(Those tapes at samplekings.com are golden, especially for begineers, and alot of ppl on this site either don't know about them or keep them a secret)


Oh ya and get some good sounds/samples thats important

and keep carrying your self the way you do, alot of noobs fly off the handle, when someone critisizes them and then the result is they get no help
