Hard drive for the 1000

I was wondering if I have to buy one could I just sent it back and foruth to my USB. And just have my hundreds of beats saved to my computer then when want to add something to one of them have them sent back to the MPC through the USB.

If I did get one where do I get the adapter from. Or does it come with the hard drive.

I live in the UK and bought my HDD adapter kit at Dolphin Music and I bought the same 100GB drive that Sparq mentions in the "sticky." Works a treat.

you can do what you suggested. a hard drive is not a necessity. it's a convenience. the idea behind the hard drive is to make the 1000 a little more self sufficient.

where are you located? if you're in the states, you can get it from directly from akai. if you live outside the states and have trouble finding one, i can send it to you, probably for less than you can buy it from around you.

the adapter (HDM10) costs $29 if you're in the states. now mind you, it's just an adapter, not a hard drive. you would have to buy that on your own.

I just got the HDM and it's great! I'll finally be able to use the HD from my old [dead] Gateway laptop! 10 gigs of space in my MPC for the price of 30 bucks. And you can autoload from it too! Now that's heaven.

Just gotta find time to sort and transfer all my sample collection to it!

25 plus shipping, so like 35 for me I guess it was.

there is only one. and it's a proprietary adapter. come on dude. $30 is not expensive.
