Will the 2500 ever play multi-samples?

That's cool...but please everyone don't turn this into what they have done to the MPC 1000 forum.

it would be nice if akai would implement a 16 levels tuning function where the 16 levels responds to a midi keyboard and you could also assign a note to each sample so when you did the 16 levels tuning the correct tuning matches the actual notes on the controller keyboard!

I think this would be a good comprimise from the mpc4000's real keymapping.

I sure would, but I have other samplers for that, and cant see it happening with the 2k5

I did download the blank chromatic pgm. i'll try it out.

I never sample, I just can't find anything with the hot drum timing as the MPC's

That is what Akai made the MPC 4000 for.

If there was an easy way to incorporate this function into the 2500..I wouldn't mind it if it didn't mess with smooth overall operation of the unit. I like the way the 2500 is streamlined.

all people want is a way to easily play some bass tones out of the mpc. seems like something that wouldn't really complicate anything. just need to have one extra autochromatic option.

Im sorry if this is a really stupid question after this whole thread
but is a multisample where someone has recorded each note for example on a piano rather than recorded one note and pitch shifted it? and if so then surely the MPC 2500 can play multisamples by using the programs as lampdog said and just programming each sample to a different pad?

you are correct kizzla, I think the question was actually does the 2500 have auto chromatic tuning and the answer to that is no not yet.

These are the instructions I found with the blank melodic pgm, back when i downloaded it. it's very straight-forward...

"It is a blank program set up to play chromaticly accross the spectrum of the 1K. Open the program, then "save as" whatever you want the program to be. Start plugging in your samples. When you play them accross the keyboard, all your key, sharps and flats, will be assigned correctly."

Mr. Cutler has never used an MPC before. If he did, he would know that the MPC 60, 2000, and 3000 have lower MIDI-event resolution
