16 Levels Problem

Ok let me first say that I have been lurking around on this board for a while now and let me just say that everybody on here is just great!!
(Except that guy that always nocks the MPC 100)
well my Problem is:
when I try to play a sample using the 16 Levels function, and I press two keys at once they both play until I release the first pad I pushed then neither one of them play. I tried using the Poly/Mono option and the mute group and still nothing. does anybody else have this problem? any way to fix it?

honestly i dont think you can press pads at the same time with 16levels armed. never could on any mpc that i can think of...
maybe im wrong. there are a few tricks that i use that you can do to get the same effect.

alright let me try to rephrase, When I try to play a melody, and I usually let the two notes overlap for a nanosecond when I play a piano. But when I try to do this on the Akai the second note I play gets muted when I let go of note #1. is that a better explaination?

Maybe you need to set the original samples parameter to "NOTE OFF".
That way the sample will play for as long as you hold the pad for.

You can also increase the sustain of the pad/note in step edit

(You can in the 2kxl anyway)

I think you have to have the original note set to POLY... but maybe Bravo is right on this one... try each and see who's right... it won't bother me if I'm wrong, these women already shattered my ego here in NY...

the note off values are making the notes trigger incorectly. go into the step editor and remove any ill sounding notes and adjust the durations of the notes so that they dont overlap.
