Organization

sup guys...ill get straight to it
when i load up some drums from my pc to my mpc... i do wtvr.... i dont know how to organize my stuff...
should i put sound together... loops together.. drums together... or should i mixx em up.. should i put one style of drums in one file and other trypes in other files?
as u can see organization is not my forteeeee lol

I don't know exactly how long you been flipping beats...but you get to a point where if your drums, samples, etc... are not organized, you will not know where to find anything...I keep all drums organized by what type of drum...Breaks, Premier type, Dilla type, Shakers, Sound efx...you get it...It depends on the type of drum...Now...my samples all come from vinyl, so I just keep those stacked...

Just make folders for snaps, kicks, snares, claps, ect... on your computer. Make sure u get yourself an extra hard drive if u dont already have one for extra storage for your music and also so it wont be on the main drive that could possibly fail at anytime.

Folders for each song; in each folder is the samples for the song, the programs, the sequences, whatever.

For as of yet unused samples, like ^^they^^ said, one folder for kicks, one for snares, one for strings, claps, violins, guitar, etc.
