what is truncation

what is it and how do i utilize it? i have a sequence goin on 5 bars and a sample that starts in the middle of the sequence and continues on more than b bars so i tried to make it longer but when i did it said truncate and it made all my sequences in the song 6 bars i only wanted this 1 sequence in a song longer not all my sequences im lost helpppppppppppp!!

what mpc you using anyway? you have the manual for it?

when you change the number of bars, it will add or subtract however many bars you tell it. truncate means to shorten or cut off

It will only, as far as I know, add or subtract to the end of your sequence, right? Or am I missing something? I would love to be able to trim from the front. Would that involve converting the sequence into one long note?

not sure what you mean trim from the front...like take off the first few bars?

so if i have a series of sequences can i record some 4 bars and others to 5 or will they all change to the same number ? foe example i have a sample thats 2 bars and a sample thats 5 bars and i want to record them into separate sequences but if i record the longer 1 at 5 bars the second 1 will change to 5 bars and that would leave me with blank bars that i couldnt record too is this correct?? all i want to do is keep my 5 bars 5 bars and my 2 bars 2 bars is there a setting for this?or a trick or something ? im using the 2500

truncate means to cut.

you can make your different sequences any bar count you want.
they CAN be different lengths if that's what your wondering.

yea just make a new sequence.
